Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Actively supports department director/manager by coordinating clinical and operational activities for the unit including shift charge, department and/or service line. Ensure that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Act as liaison between physicians and patient care team. Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Position does not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serves as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff. Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates. Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act and specialty area. values.
Daily Operations:
Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating hospital unit objectives, standards and policies pertaining to activities of nursing personnel, materials/supplies, quality and patient experience Schedules personnel and reviews staff schedule to balance staffing.
Reviews and reconciles employee time cards.
Assists staff with work assignments and ensures timeliness and quality of service and in problem-solving.
Performs direct patient care as described in Staff Nurse job description on an as-needed basis.
Facilitates day-to-day operations of unit, managing patient throughput and staffing productivity
Assists manager with activities or initiatives related to staff, safety and patient experience.
Demonstrates total commitment to outstanding customer service.
Creates an environment where employees feel valued, respected, trusted and work in a safe .
Involved in personal leadership skill development as appropriate per their individual skill set.

Quality:
Assists in the coordination of QI activities or nursing/ancillary/support services to ensure compliance with core measures
Identifies and reports trends to appropriate committee/designee for assessment/resolution
Provides education for the department and/or peers within area of expertise
Participates in development activities to support the individual unit/department
Actively coaches staff to meet quality indicators
Qualifications
Minimum:
Experience:
0-2 years RN experience
Education:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred: BSN
Licensure:
RN
BLS American Heart Association
Pay Range
$43.76 - $63.45 /hour
