Honeywell is launching the development of a new family of gas turbine engines that will help shape the future of the aerospace industry. Honeywell is hiring engineers in the areas of design, analysis, controls, test, and project management to accomplish this challenging new feat. The HTF Project Engineering team has an immediate opening for a project engineer with a strong engine, aircraft systems integration, nacelle, and engine installation background to support an exciting new engine development program. You will partner with world class engineers and leaders to plan and execute complex technical projects. You will organize and manage an interdisciplinary team to develop & deliver an aircraft subsystem as part of the larger integrated propulsion system team while managing schedule, budget, scope and risk. You will lead the requirements development, design, analysis, testing, and certification of an aircraft subsystem. The position involves extensive interface directly with customers and with partners and suppliers.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimate, plan and execute complex work packages in support of new product development programs.

  • Lead large, cross-functional teams through all aspects of design, analysis, requirements management, hardware, test and qualification/certification.

  • As a requirements owner, interface with systems engineers and product engineers to develop, validate and manage technical requirements.

  • Partner with advanced technology to ensure relevant programs are aligned with program needs

  • Develop and maintain technical relationships with major subsystem suppliers and partners.

  • Lead supplier engagement activities, working with supply chain, manufacturing engineering and suppliers to ensure hardware is producible, meets cost objectives and supports the program technical and schedule objectives.

  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and test teams to support development and certification engine tests.

  • Manage cost accounts analyze budgets, provided forecasts and track earned value

  • Develop and manage schedules and milestones. Drive Agile program planning and execution

  • Identify, characterize and develop plans to manage risks and realize opportunities

  • YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent sciences or engineering-based degree.

  • Direct experience with the design, development and certification of gas turbine engines, integrated propulsion systems, nacelle systems, aircraft and engine installations or other complex mechanical products.

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience

WE VALUE

  • Knowledge of FAA or equivalent certification requirements for engines and aircraft. Experience planning and executing an integrated propulsion system certification program with the FAA or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technical programs, including budget and schedule estimation and resource planning; strong project management skills.

  • Systems engineering and requirements management experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize cost and schedule risks before they can cause significant program impact, and the ability to develop and execute sound risk mitigation plans.

  • The initiative to embrace new technology and the drive to turn that technology into product.

  • The ability to provide technical contributions essential to the successful completion of projects.

  • Superior interpersonal skills required to build and maintain constructive working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; the ability to convey complex messages clearly as appropriate for the topic and audience.

  • Ability to prioritize time and resources effectively.

  • Self-starters able to work with little supervision and take the initiative to get things done.

  • Tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to react quickly to changing scope.
