Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in providing payments solutions for small, medium, and large businesses. The Control Management (CM) team strives to ensure that GCS has a robust first line of defense, playing an active role in supporting the growth of business, meet its objectives and demonstrating an effective control framework.
The objective of the GCS Control Management Process Risk Reduction team is to directly engage in the continual improvement of business processes to mitigate operational risks and steps in when noteworthy issues or events occur, and subsequently deploy resources to remediate at scale.
GCS is looking for a Senior Manager of Process Risk focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
The Senior Manager, GCS Process Risk Reduction will:
Manage the implementation of a comprehensive process risk reduction strategy
Compile thematic insights on process risk issues and mitigation strategies
Support identification and prioritization areas within BU processes that require risk reduction measures (e.g., assist in coordinating across First Line of Defense (1LoD) risk identification team)
Oversee execution on process risk reduction, leveraging enterprise support as needed to ensure timely resolution of vertical and horizontal (i.e., within BU or across processes that extend beyond the BU) issues that are of highest priority and/or most significant impact to the enterprise
Manage conducting independent root cause analyses focused on identifying underlying process vulnerabilities to prevent potential Operational Risks (ORs), with a focus on the most common or high-risk issues and/or losses, based on comprehensive methodology (e.g., comprehensive risk-based prioritization) to prevent recurrence, and inform control design/ enhancement
Support BU with design of controls and processes, including modifications to enhance processes/controls to improve proactive risk mitigations
Review control design and effectiveness results to address thematic control gaps across processes/products
Provide independent support for resolution of high-risk issues, and conduct independent testing of issues to ensure complete & effective resolution
Monitor and track the implementation of process changes, driving ensuring they are effective risk mitigation and reducing risk reduction and align with the risk appetite
Oversee documentation of learnings from improving controls to elevate the process risk reduction capabilities within the BU and across the enterprise
Foster a culture of risk awareness and ongoing improvement within the team and the broader organization.
Support sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise
Required Qualifications:
4 Years experience in business/first line risk and/or Control management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit or consulting in this discipline function)
Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standard
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
Prefer red Qualifications:
6 Years experience in business/first line risk and/or Control management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit or consulting in this discipline functio
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous
Experience in at least one of the following:

Executing on process risk reduction to ensure timely resolution of issues that are of highest priority and/or most significant impact

Managing monitoring and tracking the implementation of process changes, ensuring they are effective in reducing risk and align with the risk appetite
Experience in financial services industry

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
