JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide management oversight to the project controls team including the cost and planning/scheduling functions on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
  • Professionally supervise and train junior planners, schedulers, cost controllers and other technical staff
  • Apply in-depth working knowledge of scheduling techniques and utilize planning software, such as Primavera P6 in managing all planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, analysis, and ongoing recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the project team in converting project bids to setting up the complete, accurate project baseline (budget, schedule), in the company's Project Controls system.
  • Assist accounting with charge code development consistent with project control accounts.
  • Review the project contract and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, project tracking and reporting, and project closeout.
  • Review target budgets in conjunction with engineering, project, and operations
  • Provide cost control services to project teams to ensure proper project cost management Review and communicate productivity trends.
  • Generate required project status reports for internal management and for the customer, including the overall project Dashboard, project performance report (Earned Value, SPI, CPI, etc.)
  • Train the project team on how to implement the change management procedures.
  • Responsible to communicate, train and generally ensure full understanding by project staff of project controls processes and their applicable responsibilities.
  • Oversee the review and analyze the project control reports (i.e., progress and productivity) with project team and suggest corrective actions to maintain successful performance/productivity.
  • Oversee the review and analyze the project scheduling and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within anticipated cost and schedule.
  • Participate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings.
  • As required, produce custom reports per request of customer or internal management
  • Provide input on an ongoing basis for improvements/modifications to the projects project controls policy & guidelines.
  • Facilitate risk mitigation and contingency planning process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or Business

Experience

  • 5-10 years related experience
  • Proficient with Primavera scheduling software
  • Proficiency working in Project Management Cost Processor (PMCP) or similar cost processor experience (Cobra, etc.)
  • Applied knowledge of Earned Value Management
  • Applied knowledge of cost engineering/cost control
  • Proficient in Microsoft products, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
  • Adhere to all applicable company, NRC, and DOE Policies and procedures.
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within high pressure work site environment.
