SUMMARY As a Production Planner, you are responsible for scheduling and coordinating the manufacturing process to increase efficiency, minimize waste, and optimize resources. You must have expertise in planning, organizing, and evaluating production schedules, raw materials, and labor requirements. This is a crucial role in the manufacturing industry, as the Production Planner directly affects every aspect of the production process. You will work closely with various teams, including the purchasing department, production supervisors, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods while remaining within budget. You must be familiar with production software, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. A successful Production Planner should have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, be detail-oriented, and always strive to optimize the manufacturing process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This is a representative sample -- not to imply a complete listing of all responsibilities and tasks. Create and maintain production schedules and ensure they are aligned with customer demand. Monitor raw material inventory levels and assist in placing orders as needed. Communicate with various departments, including procurement, engineering, and production, to ensure projects are on schedule and meet requirements. Analyze data and generate reports on production metrics, such as efficiency and utilization. Participate in production planning meetings to provide updates and discuss issues. Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust production schedules as needed. Assist in continuously improve production processes through analysis and implementation of best practices. Performs additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.
ABILITY TO Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP; QAD and BASICS experience a plus. Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, Supervisors and Managements. Work independently with little or no supervision and be self-motivated, Organizational skill, detail-oriented, and a team player. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram record data or schedule form. Meet behaviors established in Company performance management and development process. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning) would be helpful
