Pay Range: $19 / hr - $21 / hr

Amergis specializes in connecting people to work that matters. Currently, the Amergis Tampa Office is currently seeking dedicated Mental Health techs looking to work in mental health facilities and crisis stabilization unit.

Position Details:

Mental Health Tech / Behavioral Health Tech

  • Shift Length: 8hr

  • Full Time, 40 hours per week

  • shift rotation: 7a - 3p / 3p - 11p / 11p - 7a

  • rotating weekends

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Length of Contract: 8 weeks

  • Temp to perm options

  • Requirements: Have 1+ years of recent direct facility patient care experience; behavioral or mental health experience.

  • Facility/Hospital Experience required: baker act / psychosis experience - Crisis Stabilization Unit - detox - bi polar

  • License requirement: BLS

  • Orientation/training will be provided upon start

  • Other position details: Pinellas Park, FL / St. Pete, FL

    Compensation:

    Pay Range: $19 / hr - $21 / hr

The Behavioral Health Technician cares for individuals with psychiatric conditions as well as a variety of substance use disorders, following the instructions of physicians, nurses or other health practitioners. The Behavioral Health Technician monitors a patients’ safety, physical and emotional well-being and report directly to medical staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned clients

  • Assists clients with grooming, eating/meal preparation, and toileting

  • Maintains rounding on assigned clients/patients to ensure safety as directed

  • Assists with ambulation and transfer services

  • Monitors vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure

  • Provides behavioral support services

  • Provides crisis intervention

  • Encourages independence

  • Maintains patient safety

  • Implements behavioral plans

  • Documents care per policies and procedures

  • Participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs

  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience preferred (or per facility requirements)

  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience preferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
