Administrative Assistant II Job Summary

Performs administrative assistant support work of moderate complexity.

Essential Functions

The primary responsibility of this position will be handling the visas for the department.

    • Assist staff and faculty in facilitating and maintaining lawful immigration status and employment authorization.
    • Monitor compliance with immigration rules and regulations.
    • Remains current through self-directed professional reading and attending professional development courses and attending visa training as directed.
    • Perform administrative tasks for the Payroll/HR Administrator for the department. These duties will include learning the hiring process of faculty, staff, students, and temporary employees.
    • Processing of initial requests to hire as well as onboarding of new employees.
    • Learning procedures to bring international hires into the department.

Physical Effort

This position is primarily sedentary. However, some walking is required between various areas of the department.
