DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Application Developer Specialist within the Automotive Refinish IT team, you will work with - and providing technical guidance to - a team of junior and intermediate developers as they deliver a new generation of global, custom software solutions to the PPG Automotive Refinish business. The Application Developer Specialist is expected to help establish or refine system architectures and promote proper software coding practices across the development group. You must be comfortable working remotely with a global team and can collaborate virtually with colleagues and managers alike. An Application Developer Specialist should possess technical skills which they can employ to evaluate alternative approaches and to recommend the most feasible and economical solutions. You should also have ability to design global applications using the appropriate systems architecture, database structures, and communication and network technologies. You will report to the IT Manager, S&T Color IT CoE
Key Responsibilities * Provide technical expertise, helping lead a project team in the analysis, design, development and implementation of business solutions. * Provide technical leadership and give direction to both PPG employees and contract resources * Lead efforts to promote and use technology, keeping in mind its impact on individual functions/businesses and PPG as a whole. * Create, modify, and test programming code, lead teams doing so, and/or provide technical consulting support on projects or system issues * Effectively assess objectives for assigned project phases and recommend and implement technical strategies and tactics to achieve business and project goals
Qualifications * A four-year degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline. * Expertise in implementing applications using the Angular web development framework * 6+ years of industry experience with expertise in the following technologies / platforms preferred: Full-Stack Web Developmento, Angular and TypeScripto, .NET Framework, (C#), SQL Servero, Entity Framework, Microsoft Azureo, Azure DevOps * Ability to mentor and direct others * Understanding of the Agile development methodology
