Robert Half Cyber Security Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be tasked with planning, implementing, and managing security measures to protect the organization's data, systems, and networks. You will also be involved in responding to cybersecurity-related incidents, enabling appropriate security controls, and conducting research into IT security issues and products as required.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks.

• Respond promptly to all cybersecurity-related incidents.

• Enable appropriate security controls to ensure the organization's data and infrastructure are protected.

• Participate in the change management process.

• Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities.

• Carry out daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with other departments in the organization.

• Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration and user system access.

• Actively recommend and participate in the organization’s acquisition and implementation of new systems to address security-related issues.

• Monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations.

• Actively lead investigations into problematic activity using available tools.

• Work closely with the infrastructure, network, and end-user services teams to fully secure information systems and networks. Requirements • Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineering role or similar

• Extensive knowledge of cyber security principles and best practices

• Familiarity with cyber security legal and regulatory requirements

• Proficiency in implementing and maintaining security systems and software

• Ability to identify vulnerabilities and implement security measures

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

• Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate security issues to technical and non-technical staff

• Familiarity with risk management strategies and disaster recovery operations

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information securely

• Relevant professional certifications in Cyber Security are preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security or a related field is required

• Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date on current technologies and trends in cyber security. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
