Overall Purpose: DLC is seeking a collaborative and integral Distribution Engineer who performs a broad range of project duties for Third-Party Attachments, managers, supervisors, and other engineers in order to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Position ensures maintenance of efficient and compliant records of the Third-Party Attachment process and program.

Location: Hybrid (see below), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Preble Service Center

Responsibilities: Supports the Manager and team in preparation of third-party attachment application process. Reviews application for completeness and provides 10-day reply to contractor/customer. Escalates issues as necessary. Completes pole profile and other documents associated with permitting and construction. Facilitate As Built process and construction work order Schedule coordination meetings with engineers/customers. Provide guidance on distribution engineering design with applicable standards of construction, NESC Code, and FCC/PAPUC Communications regulations. Complete necessary utility sketch, AutoCAD design, utility completion in adherence with company policy within the work management system. Work with Distribution Designers to ensure sound engineering principles are employed in accordance with all applicable codes (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE) and federal, state, local codes. Review the Distribution Designers drawings, bill of materials, and cost estimates. Attend preliminary field review meetings with customers to determine scope of work and gather field information prior to application review and engineering design.

Education and Experience Four-year Bachelor Science degree inEngineering from an ABET accredited college/university required In lieu of a degree, five (5+) or more years of relative industry experience will be considered. Relative experience for consideration includes extensive knowledge of FCC/PUC regulations associated with Communication and Broadband deployment. Two (2) years related experience required

Scope Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing one's own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work is typically of moderate complexity requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed

Decision Impact Problems and issues faced are vague but may be recognizable based on past expe ience.Accountable for some direct level of reasoning and decision making in straightforward situations based on precedents.

Hybrid Work: Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
