Are you interested in an Intern opportunity with Philips? Through these roles you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience in engineering for a HealthTech company.

You are responsible for

  • Assist in the Design, Prototype, and Testing of systems and sub-systems.

  • Compile and analyze data to support mask and CPAP machine designs.

  • Support small-scale fabrication and assembly of prototypes.

  • Support bench testing and trialing of prototypes.

  • Be highly motivated, self-disciplined, open-minded individual possessing hands-on skills.

  • Successfully interact with group members in various technical disciplines.

  • Use critical thinking to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Deliver creative solutions to somewhat complex and subjective problems.

Department Description:

The Core Research & Advanced Development (Core R&AD) group is a fast paced, dynamic business unit with a diverse group of contributors. We take core engineering technologies and apply them with creative and innovative thinking. We develop solutions for diagnostics, machines, and masks that are used by patients who are diagnosed with OSA and have been prescribed CPAP therapy. We also aid in the design of ventilators and oxygenators. Focusing on the patient and the delivery of the therapy is important in maximizing the benefits the patient experiences. The high energy environment is one where the associates are empowered to lead and are expected to be responsible for good engineering practice but also need to collaborate with other groups outside of Core R&AD.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Mechanical Engineering or Bioengineering Student

  • Solid basic computer skills including MS Office Suite

  • Good communication and presentation skills for reporting project status

  • Knowledge of CAD (Pro-E), FEA and CFD, software desired

  • Detail oriented documentation skills desired

  • Passion for learning
