As an Environmental Specialist, you will need functional and technical expertise and skills in areas of air, water and/or waste. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing environmental risk, regular environmental planning, scheduling and cost estimating. You will handle resources, develop strategy for projects and report achievements!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Assesses and mitigates environmental risks related to air permitting
Leads the implementation of approved actions and creates necessary regulatory documentation
Coordinates environmental planning, scheduling, and cost estimation for operational and project support, including environmental impact assessments
Provides technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including through industry associations and communities of practice
Regularly solicits and incorporates feedback to ensure high-quality environmental support.
Provides guidance and mentors others
Prepares and submits sophisticated applications to procure environmental permits, renewals, approvals, variances, and other authorizations and coordinate with company partners
Performs environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations, as the need arises
Identifies environmental training needs and provides training
Develops, recommends and implements improvements for systems and practices in air, permitting activities for assigned areas
Prepares and submits all required compliance reports/certifications; develops and maintains documentation related to environmental compliance programs
Cultivates relationships between Williams and regulatory agencies
Interprets applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations and ensures compliance with such regulations

Education/Years of Experience:
Environmental Specialist IV:
Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experience
Environmental Specialist V:
Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum fifteen (15) years of multifaceted environmental experience
Preferred: Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in environmental soil and groundwater assessment and remediation at CERCLA (Superfund) and RCRA sites
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of Clean Air Act regulations as applied to Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania
Preferred: Experience with facility operations and working with local Operations EHS specialists
Ability to interpret regulations (existing and proposed) and provide guidance to project teams on compliance,
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
