Terracon Field Scientist - NEPA in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 26806BR Job Description General Responsibilities: The Pittsburgh office is looking for a NEPA Specialist to conduct field studies required to complete categorical exclusions (CEs), EAs, and EIS documentation under the NEPA process for a number of public sector clients.  Will also assist with wetland delineation and wildlife surveys as needed for a variety of public and private sector clients, and will prepare applicable permit applications, risk assessments and technical documents including proposals, reports and regulatory agency correspondence.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.  Participate in pre-task planning.  Report any safety issues or concerns to management. Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. May devise new approaches to problems encountered. Completes NEPA documentation including CEs, EAs, and EISs. Completes Section 4(f) documentation. Performs assessments including wetland and listed species evaluations. May attend client and regulatory agency meetings. Responsible for developing written proposals to clients under guidance of senior staff. Evaluates complex field data and assembles in written reports. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field with 1-2 years' related experience.  Or, in lieu of related experience, a Master's degree is required. Natural Resources experience in Pennsylvania preferred. May require overnight travel. PennDOT project experience preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
