Job Title - Specialty Software Engineer - Conversational AI

Location – Remote or Pittsburgh, PA Birmingham, Alabama Dallas, TX Cleveland, OH, Phoenix, AZ

Job Summary:

Responsible for the provisioning of any IT development, analysis, Information management (DBA), or QA requiring specialized knowledge of a niche technology.

Job Responsibilities:

• Modify existing databases and database management systems.

• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.

• Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.

• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage ones time.

• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.

• Knowledge of XML, Java, JSP and other relevant software.

• Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.

Education/Experience:

• High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/software engineering/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.

• 4-5 years experience required.

Initiatives/Projects:

This position will be on a Fraud Technology Agile Team for the new Omni-Channel Communication (OCH) Hub project that will enhance how we can communicate to the customer for different money movement transactions, new account onboarding , account status and account changes for different LOBs (Retail, Lending, Small Business Banking, C&IB, Corp Comms/ Marketing, Legal). Once fully implemented, this functionality will benefit the customer by providing timely alerts and will also benefit operation analysts in Bank by providing a holistic view of communications.

Impact/Function this role has within the bank/LOB:

This Conversational AI developer position will be on a Fraud Technology Agile Team dedicated to improving the communications for our customers, different lines of business and the operations teams. This is a very strategic project with high visibility of PNC Leadership. The Fraud Technology Team supports multiple lines of business including but not limited to C&IB, Retail, Deposits, Strategy and Analytics and Fraud Operations. We are the technical team that maintains and enhances the systems that scan bank transactions for fraudulent behavior. We also communicate bank event activity to our customers.

Industry background:

The team is diverse and dispersed. There are team members in Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio, and New Jersey. Most have financial institution experience or have worked their way up in PNC. The team consists of Business System Analysts, Software Engineers, Technology Engineers, and Software Architects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

This candidate will be our Conversational AI developer. This is a key resource necessary for the OCH Project. Starting with Day 1, they will need to get up to speed on our Agile ceremonies and work with the Product Owner and BSA to start getting an understanding of the project requirements. Moving forward under the leadership of the Scrum Master, this candidate will collaborate with the other Software Engineers to iteratively implement the requirements of this project.

Conversational design capabilities

  1. Experience using agile based methodology

  2. System integration experience

  3. User story interpretation and implementation

  4. Error handling and contingency path definition and design

  5. Experience with Kore or other VA platforms

  6. with RPA based solutions such as automation anywhere or similar platforms

  7. Ability to facilitate testing methodologies

  8. Release and production implementation experience

  9. Application run and support

    Soft Skills:

    Bachelor's degree required in a technical field or business with an emphasis in technology, any certifications related to agile or requirement elicitation, safe certifications - nice to have

    Years of experience: Level 3 – 7 years.
