Summary:
- Assists Radiology manager in the day-to-day technical operation of the department in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The CT Supervisor will work collaboratively with the radiology manager, radiology director, medical staff, and administration to ensure that quality patient care is delivered. Actively supervise the quality of care delivered to patients and participates in departmental QC and performance improvement activities. The CT Supervisor must follow physician's orders precisely, maintaining a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves and their patients from unnecessary exposure. Under the direction of a radiologist and/or surgeon, performs high quality diagnostic imaging examinations using ingenuity, initiative and independent judgment of patients in a safe and timely manner
Responsibilities:
Assists radiology manager to organize and coordinate the daily services of the department. Sets appropriate priorities, uses time effectively.
Assists radiology manager with implementation of departmental policies and procedures that guide and support the provisions of services.
Demonstrates financial accountability. Provides input on cost savings and productivity enhancements.
Communicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals/required results. Is open to suggestions and new ideas from staff. Provides specific feedback, coaching and corrective action when necessary.
Exemplifies superior customer service skills and performs service recovery.
Foster teamwork around staff, engage employees in the decision-making process when appropriate and values diversity.
Monitors QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved.
Assists radiology manager with all regulatory requirements.
Proficient in departmental and hospital information technologies such as PACS, PennChart and job specific related areas.
Performs all necessary preparations related to CT procedures.
Obtains patient history, explains the procedure, and addresses any patient concerns prior to beginning the procedure.
Performs all necessary checks for accuracy of the prescription, precertification/authorization if required by individual insurance companies, PennChart order and patient identification.
Perform all procedures following the appropriate imaging protocols. All technical factors should be appropriate for the age of the patient with consideration of the tools available for shielding and dose reduction.
Compiles and reviews images, provides applicable comparison studies, and prepares documentation for interpretation.
Performs quality control testing as required.
Clean, adjust and perform routine maintenance on equipment
stock and replenish supplies as required.
Responsible for coordinating all work assignments including staffing schedules and call schedules. Maintains adequate staffing according to department operating budget.
Assists in training and/or instruction of student technologist, new employees and ancillary personnel.
Participates in on-call coverage for the department, maintaining a 1-hour response time.
Responsible for ACR accreditation.
Leads the department to provide a high level of Employee Satisfaction.
Regularly meets with all employees to improve communication and to build productive relationships.
Continuously communicates to staff the importance of patient satisfaction, quality of care, and sound financial performance
and champions our successes and priorities for improving performance in meeting and exceeding patient and customer expectations.

In conjunction with all stakeholders involved in the patient care processes, institute operational changes based on data.
Communicate, reinforce, and update as necessary environment of care procedures, (e.g. safety, security, hazardous materials, emergency, medical equipment, and utility management.)
Continuously improve unit/department operations to maintain and exceed internal/external regulatory compliance and achieve clinical excellence.
Participates in and supports patient safety goals and initiatives.
Communicate roles, accountabilities, and performance measures to all staff.
Identify unit quality metrics, review, and track monthly
communicate to the staff, and develop/implement action plans to improve performance.
Regulatory Compliance: (In partnership with Leadership Team).
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory standards and requirements, including TJC, Department of Health, funding agencies, FDA, HIPAA, and others.
Identify the competencies required for each patient population that employee works with (neonate, child, adolescent, young adult, middle adult and older adult
Assure that staff are competent to deal with age specific needs of their population.
Is explicit and patient when interacting with patients, family members and care givers.
Provides instruction to patients/caregivers
allows time for questions, etc.
Speaks respectfully to adult patients and approaches the individual on an adult level.
Addresses patients with his/her full name.

Operations / Financial Management
Is expected to support and comply with all standards for UPHS licensure
to include TJC, State and any other licensing agency.
Is expected to complete all annual in-service programs both online and on paper as established in UPHS and Department policies.
Completes and verifies payroll hours for individual employees.
Budget management for AU/Dept.
Review Financial Reports distributed to ensure all activity within an AU is expensed in the month.
Provide Accounting with accruals.
Provide Accounting with direction on prepaid expense items.
Preview monthly expense reports to detect errors/discrepancies and resolve issues.
Provide budget variance explanations to Radiology Administration.
Analyze and manage data as tool to manage expenses.
Ensure Requestor/Drafter understands Material Management Processes.
Proactively develops change management strategy for major organizational activities and events.
Implements change management strategy within Department and UPHS in alignment with UPHS objectives.
Identifies and facilitates agreement of major messages which are consistent and reflects CCH core values.

Ensure appropriate follow-up of major issues.

Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic technologists (ARRT) (CT)
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
