This is a grant-funded position that will extend into 2027, with intention of seeking permanent and/or additional grant-funding past that date, as available.

Summary:

  • The Oncology Research Program Manager will provide leadership, staff and project management, administrative support, and expertise associated with clinical trials and other oncology research at Penn Medicine Princeton Health. The candidate will manage relationships between physicians, sponsors, other academic centers, staff, and administrative offices, as well as lead operational planning relating to research activities and ensure optimal communication across stakeholders. The Oncology Research Program Manager will also support grant development and management. This position is responsible for developing and measuring programmatic metrics for efficient process planning and financial management for assigned projects, and will report on those metrics and implementing innovative approaches to further expand the program with operationally and financially successful research collaborations and projects. Responsibilities will also include management of staff training and performance, workload, study conduct, staff continuing education, finances, and study contracts and budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff management: Oversee staff, evaluating the need for additional staff, hiring and training new staff, performance management, and evaluations of staff members.

  • Department management: Determine workload, protocol assignments, and protocol feasibility, and addressing logistical issues. Participate in the development and management of study budgets with sponsors, internal budgets, and the overall research departmental budget. Develop programmatic metrics and timelines, ensuring efficiency and meeting study goals and objectives.

  • Study Conduct: Ensure that studies follow GCP guidelines in the conduct of trials, meet deadlines and maintain timelines, oversee implementation of research protocols with study and clinical team, collect and report research data, report serious adverse events per protocol, coordinate subject care with clinical team, provide coverage and support to other research team members. Create and maintain a comprehensive list and brief description of all open to enrollment oncology studies, and distributes this list as requested.

  • Collaboration: Facilitate and participate in staff meetings, facility/staff research conferences, management meetings, leadership meetings, interprofessional collaboration and communication, others as necessary. Build on collaborations and partnerships to develop and implement approaches to expand the research program.

  • Education and analysis: Develop/maintain SOPs, ongoing staff education, educating clinical staff regarding research requirements. Assist in the development and oversight of grant applications and awards. May conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, participate in drafting/editing manuscripts for submission in peer-reviewed journals, and present research at scientific conferences.

Credentials:

  • RN license preferred

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Master of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:•And 5+ years 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Clinical research experience in oncology strongly preferred.
