University of Vermont Medical Group, NY LLC Financial Analyst - Budget & Financial Analysis in Plattsburgh, New York

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Budget and Reimbursement and assists in the development of departmental and organizational annual budgets. The Financial Analyst assists in the periodic financial management and analysis of one or more assigned clinical business units. The Financial Analyst prepares workpapers and analysis needed for annual cost report submissions and other reimbursement related audits and submissions. The position acts as the liaison between clinical departments and Finance by interpreting the finance support needs of their customer group(s). Support the strategic and operational decision making of his/her customer group(s) and the leadership team. This position is primarily remote but may require occasional onsite visits, once per quarter.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:
1. Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of budget preparation experience in healthcare environment preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years cost report preparation experience required.
4. Experience in healthcare cost accounting is preferred.
5. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
6. Knowledge of desktop PC applications and general accounting software required.
7. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
8. General knowledge of not-for-profit healthcare accounting and healthcare revenue cycle is required.
9. Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment is a must.
10. Ability to assimilate and retain high levels of detail.
11. Ability to deal with an ever-changing environment.
12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
13. Strong organizational skills.
14. Must be a self-starter, willing to invest time in a career, and assume responsibility for personal growth.
15. Must exhibit the ability to work well with others and within a team setting.
16. Must be able to keep financial records confidential.
