Corteva Agriscience Safety Supervisor in Plymouth, Indiana

We are currently seeking a Safety Supervisor to join our team at our Plymouth, Indiana production facility . If you have a passion for providing solutions and supporting a high-performing team, this is a terrific opportunity for you!
What You Will Do:
Review, interpret and implement the Corteva safety, loss prevention, occupational health, and hazardous waste management programs.
We rely on you, our in-house safety professional to follow Corteva’s robust programs to ensure that our safety culture is effective, and we follow all local, regional, and federal regulations
Develop, support, implement, and perform auditing and record keeping strategies for the location with Risk Management’s direction
Determine safety training needs and requirements
Build relationships and rapport with all team members so you know your audience and can lead the training, communication, and education efforts.
Review facility operations and consult with Risk Management, local Safety Committee, Safety Networks, and Employees to identify unsafe working conditions to develop and appropriate controls or alternatives
Support Incident Management at the location through a coordinated effort with leadership team and site manager to ensure proper reporting, incident investigation and follow-up
You are the first point of contact should a near miss or incident occur at the location. Coordinate effort with site manager to ensure proper reporting, incident investigation and follow-up
Review and become familiar with Safety, Health & Environmental regulations, as well as related regulations (transportation) to provide knowledgeable consultation to the location
Effectively communicate and transfer knowledge to the location and /or business on a frequent basis in a relatable and effective manner
Other duties as assigned
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
What Skills You Need:
You possess a minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of direct safety experience
You are willing and able to obtain the OSHA 10-hr. and/or 30-hr. safety training certification within twelve (12) months of employment
You possess good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
You can effectively coach, train, problem solve, and lead others
You have a valid US Driver’s License
You are willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
You are comfortable with technology and possess good a computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required
You have a high attention to detail and maintain awareness of existing and proposed safety codes, regulations, and company guidelines
You understand that delivering to our customers on-time keeps us viable and are willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime hours, which include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand
What Makes You Stand Out:
Direct Safety Supervisor experience within the Agricultural industry
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
Knowledge or experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work
Experience with Injury Management Investigations
General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (plows, tractor, forklift, etc.)
