• Inspect machined parts either manufactured or purchased to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Inspect HII manufactured assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings, process sheets and specifications.
• Review Manufacturing Orders (MOs) for accuracy and completeness.
• Enter defect information into MRP system.
• Complete requested documentation reports for QA Manager.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing staff to resolve manufacturing quality issues.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop MO specific in-process inspection checklists.
• Interact with government inspector as required.
• Maintain a professional manner to enhance the company’s image with vendors/customers.
• Attend and participate in technical meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
What you will be doing...
Performs required inspections and nondestructive tests (UT, MT, PT, visual, dimensional, load tests, etc.) on mechanical, electrical or structural components or systems to ensure conformance with the quality requirements for Naval reactor plants and associated systems, in support of ship construction, overhaul, refueling and repair contracts. This job reports to a Supervisor, Inspection and works under general supervision. Work is performed within the confines of standardized Company and industry policies, practices and procedures. This job has decision-making responsibilities with regard to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed and the determination of measuring equipment used. The incumbent has the authority to halt work temporarily that would affect the reactor plant. Errors could be critical and adversely affect the Companys competitive position in the nuclear field. inspects and performs tests on mechanical, electrical or structural components and assemblies related to reactor plant operators. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.
What we are looking for..
• High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Electro-mechanical in-process inspection skills for a manufacturing assembly environment
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance #LI-MH1

Preferred Requirements
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Internet Explorer and Deltek.
• Shop/fabrication inspection skills and relative experience with measurement tools, both analog and digital.
• CMM Inspection systems skills with Hexagon metrology or equivalent systems
• ISO9001, AS-9100 skills/knowledge
• CQT Certification
• OQE Skills
• IPC and J-STD experience for electronics and cable manufacturing
• Fundamentals in Electronics and test equipment for in process inspections
o Continuity, voltage, and circuit test inspection
o Interconnection cable assembly inspection/manufacturing background
Physical Requirements
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
