SUMMARY

The server guides the guests through the dining experience, anticipating the guests every need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Maintain a POSITIVE attitude.
• Attend menu classes daily.
• Check assigned section to find out where station will be for the evening.
• Check tables daily to make sure that everything is clean and free of smudges.
• Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
• Writes order on check.
• Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
• Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving.
• Remove anything that might have been soiled during the course of the meal.
• Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
• Totals bill and accepts payment.
• Ladles soup, tosses salads, portions pies and desserts, brews coffee, and performs other services as determined by establishment's size and practices.
• Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
• Be aware of busing trays, if they are full and the DRA's are busy, take tray to the kitchen.
• Do all assigned sidework.
• Report gratuities within company guidelines and federal law.
