Become a Structures Asset Engineer 3 [HYBRID] within the Asset Engineering team of Southern California Edison responsible for creating, developing and maintaining engineering construction standards, specifications, design criteria and other technical documents. Also responsible for performing technical analysis, developing engineering solutions/strategies and provide recommendations for safer reliable underground and overhead structures.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Work with subject matter experts to drive feasible solutions to issues arising from codes changes, industry practices, standard updates, and asset strategies.

  • Perform engineering studies and technical analysis associated with underground and overhead transmission and distribution structures assets.

  • Work with various collaborators in developing innovative engineering solutions.

  • Evaluate, review and approve engineering documents.

  • Develop criteria for structural design of transmission and distribution structural assets.

The Essentials

  • Five to Seven years of engineering experience.

  • Experience in civil/structural engineering design and analysis.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, technology, mathematics or related field.

The Preferred

  • Master’s degree or higher in engineering, technology, mathematics or related field.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.

  • Engineering software such as SPIDA, PLS CADD, RISA, Enercalc, or other structural engineering software, used in the design and analysis of underground and overhead structural assets such as UG structures, poles, towers, crossarms.

  • Broad understanding of engineering design principles and practices, codes, methods, and advance engineering analysis.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
