Whole Foods Market Quality Assurance Specialist, Bakehouse in Pompano Beach, Florida

Job DescriptionWe are hiring for a Quality Assurance Specialist at the Whole Foods Market Bakehouse in Pompano Beach, FL. The QA Specialist is responsible for verifying and maintaining an expected high level of quality in our products and processes with detailed assessments. This person should be able to produce accurate and detailed records and documentation, diplomatic resolutions, and clear communication.

Shift: 11:00am - 7:30pm Monday - Friday, with flexibility to include weekends based on business needs.

Compensation based on experience: $20- $32/hour

Bonus: Team Members are eligible for a monthly bonus, up to $350! Free employee parking!

Job Summary

This position is ideal for experienced QA professionals and recent graduates seeking to expand their knowledge in food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation while working in a dry production environment. Work areas include office, production floor, freezers, coolers, and oven area. This is an in-person, on-site position.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all GMP guidelines, complete all documentation for HACCP, FSMA, and daily operational checks as required by food safety plan.

  • Examine incoming products for quality, freshness and ensure accuracy of weight.

  • Monitor and perform environmental swabbing and other swabbing programs as required, conform to GMP, HACCP and FSMA guidelines following assigned frequency.

  • Ensure proper lot control and rotation of all product in storage areas.

  • Inspect product on daily for quality and food safety.

  • Inspect facility and personnel to uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

  • Ensure all products are properly labeled and stored to prevent cross contamination.

  • Oversee the packaging of outgoing product to ensure quality and food safety.

  • Maintain accurate records and logs of all temperatures.

  • Perform vendor weight tests and ensure facility scale accuracy.

  • Conduct verification and validation of food safety plan, hazard analysis, sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing process, and finished product.

  • Collaborates with production to initiate and implement corrective action reports according to HACCP requirements.

  • Perform pre-production sanitation inspections for all food processing areas and equipment.

  • Conduct food safety training for all facility Team Members.

  • Represent the facility during audits.

  • Follow and comply with established procedures and maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regulation rules and standards, including: Department of Health, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, Steri-tech and HACCP.

  • Perform detailed review of daily production, sanitation, QA, and receiving documentation.

  • Ensure that all records are organized and easily accessible for audit purposes.

  • Assist with the continuous improvement of quality systems.

  • Perform all duties as assigned by manager.
