Erickson Living Fitness Specialist - Part Time in Pompton Plains, New Jersey

Cedar Crest is a beautiful 130-acre continuing care retirement community nestled in the Ramapo Mountains in Pompton Plains, a neighborhood of Morris County, New Jersey. We are hiring a Fitness Specialist to join our team. The Fitness Specialist will assess, monitor, and develop individual fitness programs for residents.

How you will make an impact:

  • Instructing fitness classes for senior population with varying abilities.

  • Performing fitness orientations for residents.

  • Provide one on one personal training sessions, motivation, and consulting.

  • Promoting and assisting in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and physical independence for older adult population.

  • Maintaining a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for residents throughout the three fitness centers and aquatics center.

  • Assisting with coordination and implementation of wellness/fitness programming.

  • Prescribing an appropriate exercise program, including flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular training with the ability to work with high risk population.

  • Perform administrative tasks associated with facility operations.

  • Building strong relationships with residents and staff, encouraging them to be physically active.

What you will need:

  • Associate’s degree in Health Education or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Current CPR/First Aid certifications.

  • Experience in evaluating fitness programs for seniors is a plus.

  • Minimum of 1-year related work experience.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience starting at $19/hour
