Erickson Living Fitness Specialist - Part Time in Pompton Plains, New Jersey

Cedar Crest is a beautiful 130-acre continuing care retirement community nestled in the Ramapo Mountains in Pompton Plains, a neighborhood of Morris County, New Jersey. We are hiring a Fitness Specialist to join our team. The Fitness Specialist will assess, monitor, and develop individual fitness programs for residents.
How you will make an impact:
Instructing fitness classes for senior population with varying abilities.
Performing fitness orientations for residents.
Provide one on one personal training sessions, motivation, and consulting.
Promoting and assisting in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and physical independence for older adult population.
Maintaining a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for residents throughout the three fitness centers and aquatics center.
Assisting with coordination and implementation of wellness/fitness programming.
Prescribing an appropriate exercise program, including flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular training with the ability to work with high risk population.
Perform administrative tasks associated with facility operations.
Building strong relationships with residents and staff, encouraging them to be physically active.

What you will need:
Associate’s degree in Health Education or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current CPR/First Aid certifications.
Experience in evaluating fitness programs for seniors is a plus.
Minimum of 1-year related work experience.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience starting at $19/hour
