Senior Maintenance Technician Mertz Manufacturing, Inc. Ponca City, OK

Regular Requirements:

• Twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 50 pounds; walk up and down flights of stairs. Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally, and cannot be color blind.

Safety-Sensitive Work Environment: This is a manufacturing plant environment. Mertz has an established workplace safety program to provide a healthful, safe and environmentally compliant work environment for employees, customers and visitors. Its success depends on the alertness and personal commitment of all. Safety-critical tasks are performed throughout the facility on a daily basis. These jobs include operating forklifts, overhead cranes, heavy equipment operation and tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment. An employee in this position could be subject to exposure to dirt, dust, noise, vibration, moving objects, mechanical parts, and equipment hazards. Proper personal protective equipment must be worn in designated areas at all times. An employee in this position must demonstrate an understanding of safety procedures and the ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.

Position Description This craftsman sets the example and pace for the grades of assembly mechanics below this level. Knowledge of the sequence of operations in conventional and non-conventional machines. Knowledge of analogue and digital circuits and is able to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair them.

Position Qualifications

• A minimum of 1.5 to 3 years of experience required
• Excellent speaking, writing and listening skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Drivers license, current and reliable transportation

Duties and Responsibilities

• Must have purchased tools required for this position

• Must be current on the use of test equipment such as multi-meters, volt meters, oscilloscope, square wave, generators, and amplifiers

Duties and Responsibilities

• Run diagnostics in binary systems
• Must be capable of operating forklifts, tractors, ditch diggers, concrete cutting tools, and other machines
• Must timely provide quality production in volume meeting scheduled deadlines
• Must be knowledgeable in the use of manuals and application of proper test equipment being able to trouble shoot problems and repair in a minimum amount of time
• Able to solve electrical problems, meet job schedules, and eliminate the need for an outside electrical contractor
• Must be able to read and accurately interpret blue prints and schematics
• Capable of repairing or assembling equipment parts in vehicles with little supervision
• Capable of most shop work, wood work, and cab carpet installation
• Must maintain material needed for every day shop use by timely completing request for materials
• Must be able to operate a 60 man lift wi hout fear of heights
