Technical Designer

The Technical Designer is an entry level tech design position that will work closely with design staff to prepare products for production including Tech Pack preparation, BOM completion, and size grading. This position requires experience with Adobe Illustrator and does not require modeling capabilities. Major Responsibilities                                                                                                            

  • Works with design staff to prepare products for production.

  • Prepares Tech Packs

  • Observes grade rules and tolerance for products.

  • Acts as the liaison between Product Development and Production to ensure final products are identical to Tech Pack and pre-production samples.

  • Maintains quality standards.

  • Creates BOM and quality documentation.

  • Maintains and organizes project folders.

  • Audits existing BOMs and Tech Packs to assure maximum accuracy.

  • Understands the needs and desires of our customers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Educational Requirements :   A bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

     

Previous Experience: 

  • Two or more years of Technical Design experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Tactical Gear or military experience is preferred.

    Competencies and Skills :

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to read and speak English.

  • Knowledge of current resources in the tactical gear industry

  • Strong technical knowledge of sewing, material, and production details needed for the manufacture of garments, load-carriage, backpacks, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of currently available fabric and hardware.

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and other MS Office software solutions

  • Knowledge of the development of material solutions, preferred.

  • Adobe Illustrator skills preferred.

  • CAD skills preferred.

  • Proficient in ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics – Business Central)

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and effectively respond to feedback.

  • Keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent organization skills.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously while managing multiple priorities.
