Aston Carter Inventory Control Specialist in Port Washington, Wisconsin

Job Title: Inventory Control SpecialistJob Description

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory processes. You will be responsible for counting materials after shop floor order completion, verifying component consumption, and finished good production. Additionally, you will develop and manage the cycle count program, reconcile physical inventory to Syspro, and identify root causes of inventory discrepancies. Your recommendations and implementation of process changes will help increase inventory accuracy and timeliness. You will also assist in waste management programs and minimize material obsolescence. This role requires entering transactions into the customer’s ERP system (SAP or other) and performing other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Count materials after shop floor order completion

  • Verify component consumption (issues and returns)

  • Verify finished good production

  • Develop and manage cycle count program

  • Reconcile physical inventory to Syspro; determine root cause of inventory discrepancies

  • Recommend and/or implement process changes to increase inventory accuracy and timeliness

  • Develop strategies to improve inventory accuracy

  • Assist and/or lead waste management programs

  • Minimize material obsolescence

  • Enter transactions into customer’s ERP system, as required (SAP or other)

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management

Essential Skills

  • Prior experience (6 months to 1 year) in inventory control or related area

  • Associate degree in materials planning/supply chain, business, or related area of discipline is preferred

  • Understanding of MRP concepts and ERP system functionality

  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point) and with Google suite and Outlook

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to perform well under pressure

  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in materials planning/supply chain, business, or related area of discipline is preferred

  • Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)

  • Experience with Google suite and Outlook

Work Environment

This role will involve working with various technologies and equipment, including ERP systems such as SAP. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You will be expected to maintain composure under pressure and respect for all individuals.
