Description

Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is in search of a meticulous and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team in PORTLAND, Oregon, United States. This role is centered around contributing to the efficient operation of the accounting department, through tasks such as account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and billing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the comprehensive management of all accounting functions and record keeping, which includes administrative duties related to normal accounting processes

• Accountable for tracking and recording operating expenses

• Tasked with the reconciliation of deposit accounts and investment accounts

• Handle the accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions

• Assist with the administration of grants and scholarships, which includes data entry, tracking payments, and reporting requirements

• Participate in the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders

• Prepare and distribute fund statements to fundholders

• Provide support during the annual audit

• Maintain complete and organized financial records, including invoices, receipts, and other documentation

• Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed to support the overall goals of the organization

• Schedule Investment, Finance, and Distribution Committee meetings and communicate with committee members about administrative matters

• Responsible for tracking hours worked.

Requirements • Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Invoice Processing is required

• Must possess strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience in handling Donations is beneficial

• Understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and with a team

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
