Job Description
This position involves managing the cost of projects and assisting in purchasing activities to support the procurement team. The role includes working on projects ranging from $15 million to $150 million, covering construction and engineering services, materials, and any additional goods/services needed for the development of renewable energy projects, primarily solar and wind farms. The accounting analyst will track costs, assist with forecasting, and perform variance analysis.
Responsibilities
Manage project costs, and assist with forecasting and budgeting for each individual project.
Build and manage reports to ensure the project is within the scope and spending limits. Support the procurement team in obtaining materials, labor, etc.
Create and formulate requests for proposals/quotations/information, bid analysis, tenders, and risk evaluations.
Administer and lead cross-functional teams through the competitive bidding process, direct supplier negotiations, evaluate and select suppliers in accordance with company policies.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to provide goods/services at costs consistent with budgetary expectations.
Participate in the negotiation of construction contracts to minimize operational, legal, and financial risks. Collaborate with both internal and external legal counsel, as applicable.
Track material/service costs and supplier performance using approved metrics and tools. Analyze trends and make corresponding sourcing decisions.
Lead and/or participate in meetings with suppliers to rectify issues and ensure suppliers are capable of meeting and are aware of the requirements and expectations.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Essential Skills
2+ years of cost accounting experience within manufacturing, construction, or renewable industry
1+ year minimum experience in procurement or purchasing (construction, renewables, utility, power plant industries)
Proficient to expert level experience with MS Excel and data analysis
Experience with SAP, Ariba, MS Excel, buyer purchasing, procurement & construction, procurement engineering, procurement services, proposal writing, invoicing

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, etc.) or equivalent combination of experience and technical training
Knowledge of purchasing processes or procedures
Experience working in a high-performance company with multiple systems and organizations related to compliance, safety, quality, and environmental management
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers and suppliers
Self-starter with excellent planning, project management, work planning, and organizing skills
Strong computer skills with the ability to utilize the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly MS Excel
Preferred experience in SAP and Ariba or similar programs related to procurement
Work Environment
The office is located in Montgomery Park and has recently returned to full-time in-office work. Employees will work PST if located on the West Coast or EST if on the East Coast. The office has an open and embracing layout with great views of the city and excellent amenities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00
