Engineering Manager – Energy and Power Electric Systems
Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. (HYMH), a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Engineering Manager for our Electrical and Control Systems team in Portland, OR. HYMH designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. This individual will have a key influence on the organization and the success of our future products. This person plays an important role in identifying and leading design/test of components and systems of new technologies and their applicability to forklift designs to address customer needs. This individual interacts with all aspects of the organization at a global level, including engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and procurement - as well as customers and suppliers - to move concepts to realities. Must be exceptional from a technical and project management perspective as well as possess the ability to develop, empower and engage teams to achieve exceptional results. Ownership of power electronics, control systems, energy systems, Li-Ion battery management systems and test processes
Proven experience taking customer level requirements and then developing system and component level requirements/specification

QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S degree in Electrical Engineering (or CSE/CE), Master’s Degree preferred
15+ years of industry experience in product development and management including:
Embedded systems development including custom hardware and software in OEM environment
General familiarity with Model Based/Autocode development and C programming
Application of software distribution to manufacturing systems
Leading technical teams with solid project management skills
A proven track record of delivering high quality projects on time and on schedule
Industrial Automotive/Mobile Equipment electronics and control system experience
Knowledge of sensors, switches, actuators, motors, controllers and wiring systems
Deep understanding of vehicle communication networks including CANbus and associated protocols
Experience implementing and assessing functional safety of systems
Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product and to overcome potential project roadblocks.
