Description
A law firm in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join their team. This role is essential in supporting cases in Maritime Law.
The salary range for the position is 65-85k DOE, and the firm provides full medical, dental and vision coverage, parking in the building, generous PTO of 5 weeks by the end of first year.
Responsibilities:
• Manage calendaring/docketing
• Liaise with medical providers, courts and clients
• Request and manage medical records as part of ongoing case management
• E-file documents in federal courts in a timely and accurate manner
• Draft requests for production, interrogatories and responses to request to production and interrogatories, and other legal documents and correspondence
• Conduct legal research
• Manage case expenses against collected revenue through light accounting tasks
• Utilize Case Management Software (Needles)
• Apply knowledge of Civil Litigation procedures
Requirements
Qualifications:
2+ years' as Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal, maritime law experience not required although desirable
Experience e-filing in state and federal courts
Preparing legal documents from template, proof reading and redlining
Experience proactively managing a calendar and docketing
