HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The PDX Maintenance and Facilities Manager is responsible for the direction, leadership, and management of the plant maintenance and facilities teams as well as strategy development and implementation for the PDX plant, in total as part of the Plant Management Team.

THE DETAILS

  • Leadership and Direction: Provide direction and leadership to maintenance operations including electrical, mechanical, machinists, and inventory control teams.

  • Maintenance Management: Oversee maintenance activities for manufacturing, facilities, campus grounds, and administration building, ensuring alignment with plant and product line plans.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Manage a preventive planned maintenance program to continuously reduce unplanned machine downtime and maintenance costs.

  • Collaboration for Improvement: Partner with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Manufacturing Engineering on initiatives to improve machine performance.

  • Performance Tracking: Establish and track key indicators and targets to meet business performance goals, driving improvements in process capability and reliability.

  • Cost Savings and Process Improvements: Identify, implement, and support key cost-saving initiatives and process improvements related to spare parts, consumable supplies, tools, and energy use.

  • Team Development: Continuously build a high-performance team through one-on-one meetings, training and development opportunities, performance appraisals, and succession planning.

  • Plant Management: Ensure a safe work environment, support plant safety programs, and foster a culture of safety.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Educational Background: BS in Engineering, Business, or equivalent; MS preferred. Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience: 15+ years in facility/maintenance within manufacturing. 5+ years in management.

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in high-volume manufacturing, machine and electrical maintenance, facilities maintenance, safety, and maintenance planning.

  • Project Management: Skills in project management, budgeting, and contract administration.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Communication Skills: Effective written and oral communication for all organizational levels.

  • Leadership: Experience in coaching, mentoring, and team development.

  • Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with lean manufacturing and change management.

  • Integrity and Initiative: Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and performance improvement.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.

    For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86,900 - $137,200.
