We are looking for a talented Industrial Designer to join our User Experience (UX) Design team of 15 expert ID & UI professionals located around the globe. This position will be based in Portsmouth-UK , with the option to work fulltime on-site or enjoy a hybrid work schedule. Do you have a passion for customer & user centered product design? What you’ll do

  • Be part of the team that is creating and delivering innovative and consistent design experiences for our various product categories

  • Work with engineering teams to integrate UX design activities on projects that enable better collaboration and space for user-centered design-build-test activities

  • Participate or lead brainstorms to align teams on design problems, and contribute to creating concepts that elegantly solve their biggest design challenges while elevating the overall look/feel of our products

  • Create concept designs via sketching and computer 2D/3D visualizations to capture solutions for team alignment and evaluation

  • Generate 3D CAD models of design directions for the creation of UX design prototypes

  • Create physical mock-ups of designs, or coordinate construction of models with external vendors

  • Plan and conduct user-testing to improve or validate designs; generate Test reports with clear recommendations to improve designs (formative tests)

    Who you are

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Industrial Design, Product Design or related field 

  • 2-5 years professional experience​

  • ​​Proficient in design software (Rhino) or parametric CAD (Solidworks, Inventor)

  • ​​Advanced skill level with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator​ 

  • ​​Excellent sketching and photorealistic rendering skills in KeyShot or equal​ 

  • ​​Solid foundational knowledge of manufacturing and material processes​; experience with metal fabrication methods a plus

  • High energy, can-do and hands on attitude, very strong sense of ownership and desire to succeed with commensurate analytical and strategic skills. 

  • Strong collaboration skills, empathizing with technical and engineering constraints while respectfully challenging teams to elevate design solutions

  • Strong advocate for the user – helping teams balance technical needs with needs of the people who use them

  • Experience with prototyping/design tools and user testing methodologies  

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Communicate and present ideas effectively to a cross-functional team
