Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital in Portsmouth, NH, is excited to welcome a dedicated Assistant Clinical Supervisor to our 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care Department. Anticipated Schedule:
This full-time position consists of three 12.5-hour shifts each week and includes up to 3 holiday shifts.
Compensation:
$28 - $34 based on experience & skill set

What You’ll Do:
As the Assistant Clinical Supervisor, you will work closely with the Clinical Supervisor to provide high-quality, personalized care to our patients and clients, while also ensuring seamless operations within the department. You’ll lead by example, solve problems on the fly, and help create an environment of trust, respect, and collaboration across all departments.
Your Leadership Responsibilities Include:
Helping manage staffing levels to meet patient and client needs.
Collaborating with departments to improve workflow and service delivery.
Supporting team development through training and onboarding.
Playing a key role in daily operations, performance reviews, and problem-solving.
Maintaining equipment and ensuring your team is set up for success.
90% hands-on technical work, 10% administrative oversight.
Clinical Duties:
Triaging emergency patients and guiding clients through their visit.
Assisting DVMs with diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
Monitoring anesthesia and ensuring patient safety.
Handling laboratory samples and using imaging technologies for patient assessment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Emergency Veterinary setting.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to promote teamwork and communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Proven ability to manage fast-paced, high-stress environments.
A passion for veterinary medicine and a commitment to providing top-tier care.
