Taconic Resources for Independence Mobile Benefits Counselor in Poughkeepsie, New York
Provide benefits advisement to individuals with disabilities who are reentering the job market. Must be familiar with Social Security and DSS regulations and be knowledgeable in SSI, SSDI, PASS Plans, Medicare Parts A, B, D and all Medicaid programs
Responsibilities: Complete program deliverables for consumers with mental health disabilities *Complete the online SOAR Works curriculum within the first six months of hire date Participate in committees and conduct classes, workshops and trainings throughout Dutchess County Provide in-house staff and affiliate agencies with current laws/regulations pertaining to SSI, SSDI, and other benefit programs to assist consumers Attend planning meetings, in-service trainings, public forums, scheduled Job Placement Consortium meetings and other relevant meetings Completion of quarterly, annual, and other requested data reports Maintain open pathways of communication with the local SSA/DCFS offices, and other affiliate agencies. Utilize web-based communication platforms, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to connect with consumers Perform other program-related tasks as assigned
