General Atomics and Affiliated Companies Project Control Analyst in Poway, California

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Control Analyst in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA).

Under close supervision and regular review, the Project Control Analyst is responsible to assist in planning, tracking, and coordinating project schedules and budgets in the Electrical Engineering Department for our Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) group. Assists management by establishing and maintaining cost/schedule baseline and records roadblocks, assumptions, and ground rules for status communications. Will contribute to new business proposals by developing schedules and cost estimates while assisting with resource management. This position will participate in the development of mechanisms and tools for monitoring project progress and for intervention by executive management. .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with schedules, budgets, and project performance monitoring while monitoring project schedule, timeline, and milestones

  • Assists the Project Controls team in various day to day responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain program plans, estimates, schedules, and engineering Statements of Work (SOW); Provides direction and guidance of internal design controls and practices to design or technical staff

  • Communicate program requirements, specifications, and documentation in support of developing estimates and proposals for new and/or improved part and system designs, and the associated lab, ground, and flight test activities.

  • Assists with the development of the Integrated Master Schedule for assigned programs

  • Implements reporting procedures to evaluate project status, valuation of work in progress, and tracking of contract deliverables

  • Provides management with progress reports, proposals, and maintain service agreement across multi-disciplinary teams. Will present to executive management clear, timely, and accurate information to make decisions on a weekly basis

  • Monitors and assures proper work approval authorization and charging assignments

  • Coordination of engineering resources as directed by management.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals.

  • Multitasking team player with a hands-on approach; experienced in formulating plans to resolve engineering problems.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline, along with three or more years of related experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • Must have a good understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management.

  • Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.

  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.

  • Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Must be able to work extended hours as required.

  • Understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience is desirable.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
