Type: Full Time Location: Remote Travel Required: Yes Overtime Exempt: No Clearance: Ability to obtain Favorable Tier 3 Background Investigation Reports To: ARMADA HQ *CONTINGENT UPON AWARD* Duties & Responsibilities: All contractor instructors shall conform to and comply with the rules, regulations, and other requirements of the Department of Defense and Department of the Navy, and as otherwise specified in this PWS. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Be a qualified instructor in accordance with the specific requirements identified in the following sections. Have knowledge of basic and advanced training techniques to include classroom management, Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs), and student motivation. Have knowledge of computer technology application as it applies to instructional presentation. Possess high personal standards of technical knowledge and professional competence in delivering training material. Possess the ability to perform in a military environment. Possess a familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the U. S. Navy, military rank/grade structure. Possess a knowledge of Navy and military terminology, and shipboard/installation environments and configurations. Possess an excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written. Minimum Requirements All instructors shall possess one of the following qualifications: Have attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service or civilian equivalent), or Academic credentialing (teacher/professor), or Instructor training via an academic institution. Academic ITC requirements should contain at a minimum 24-semester credit or quarter hours in the following: (a) Effective communication and questioning techniques (b) Adult learning theory and principles (c) Instructional Delivery methods (d) Lesson delivery performance laboratory (e) Training environment management (f) Inter-personal skills (g) Evaluation and Feedback Have 2 years of experience as an instructor delivering training. Ability to obtain a Favorable Tier 3 Background Investigation. The CENSECFOR Director of Training, with recommendation from the Learning Standards Officer, will make the final determination of whether Academic ITC requirements detailed in number 3 above have been met, and is the waiver authority for exceptional instructors that have not met formal training requirements but possess equivalent abilities. Currently, only Tidewater Community College course MILT 5400 meets the requirements listed above, as it has been the only course submitted for evaluation. The contractor may submit other courses via the appropriate learning institution for consideration. Contract Instructors must possess experience relevant to the course(s) that they teach. All contract instructor's resumes must demonstrate successful completion of a Commanding Officer assignment. Additionally: The resume of the COAT contract instructor assigned to provide training to the Installation COAT Course must include experience as a Navy Installation Major Command Commanding Officer, or other Commanding Officer experience plus Joint Staff Integrated Vulnerability Assessment, Joint Mission Assurance Assessment program management, or military-service equivalent experience in assessment team management. Instructors providing training for Surface COAT, Major Command Surface COAT, Aviation COAT, Submarine COAT, and Expeditionary COAT courses must have documented experience as a Commanding Officer of an afloat/deploying command (i.e. surface, aviation, expeditionary or sub-surface command).
