Statement of the Job:

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking a Mail Services Supervisor to serve students, faculty, staff, and the broader community with top-notch customer service in the mailroom. This position is considered essential to University operations and required to be on campus during inclement weather and administrative leaves.

The starting rate is $19.59 for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, retirement and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers wellness programs.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Six months of specialized training or education beyond high school AND sufficient experience, including five years of mail service experience or equivalent. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the education required of the assigned position.

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Customer service experience

  • Valid Driver's License and be an authorized and approved University Driver based on the Driver Administration Policy.

    Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Experience working with people in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience dealing with questions and concerns in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with processing financial entries

  • Experience with handling sensitive or confidential information and/or deliveries

  • Attention to detail and a “team-player” attitude are a must

  • Ability to multitask
