Princeton University Project Manager Labor Relations in Princeton, New Jersey

Reporting to the Director of Client Services/Labor Relations this one-year term position will be the primary project manager for collective bargaining negotiations. Responsibilities include facilitating charter creations, developing comprehensive project plans, assembling stakeholders, identifying milestones, assessing cultural and operational requirements, designing process workflows, coordinating communications and progress updates, facilitating input sessions, and addressing issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

Partner with project sponsors to identify, prioritize and sequence the project goals. Identify key stakeholders who will need to be engaged to assess impact of contract proposals (systems, processes, practices, existing policies). Design and facilitate working sessions. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand, document, and prioritize requirements. Identify and refine processes where the proposed process will integrate with other department operational rules, policies and procedures. Produce clear and detailed project documentation and maintain repository. Produce an estimated implementation schedule, spending plan, and business case to secure funding for the chosen solution. Assist the team to design organizational structures and role definitions for how support should be implemented Identify critical day-to-day management within the departments in which unionized employees work.

Serve as an advocate for project and key stakeholders by working with the project team and advisory groups to identify and increase the awareness of roles, process and procedure changes, critical stakeholder impacts, and assist organizations in developing an inclusive change plan to ensure their ongoing understanding and support for supporting labor relations across academic departments. Identify and help resolve project issues in an efficient manner. Develop content for workshop sessions regarding new processes and workflow customized to appropriate audience including staff, supervisors, managers and faculty.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of human resources experience working in a unionized environment.

Demonstrated relevant experience managing administrative projects.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, to a diverse audience, including active listening skills.

Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, collaboration and customer service skills.

Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and deadlines at once, and be able to determine appropriate priorities.

Must be able to make independent interpretations and make appropriate decisions that are in the best interest of the organization and that are consistent with the objectives of senior management.

Ability to work efficiently at all levels of the organization and influence others to progress toward a shared vision or goal.

Excellent analytic, problem-solving and root-cause identification skills.
