JOB SUMMARY
This is a 10-week, paid summer internship with full-time hours. The internship will run from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025. The position will be located in the Legal Department at Textron’s Worldwide Headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island, but some projects and assignments may require paid travel to other Textron facilities.
Textron seeks a highly motivated, responsible, and mature student interested in the intersection of business and law. You will collaborate directly with senior attorneys and business personnel of a publicly traded company and be expected to assist with and participate in daily activities and special projects.You will gain valuable hands-on experience and will benefit from coaching and mentoring by seasoned in-house personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting in the preparation of Textron’s annual Corporate Responsibility Report.
Conducting reviews of Securities and Exchange Commission filings and other public reports from industry peers, focusing on disclosure topics such as environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters.
Researching the positions of ESG ratings firms and institutional investors regarding ESG issues.
Aiding in the creation of documentation related to the corporate governance of Textron’s numerous subsidiaries.
Conducting due diligence and assisting in other aspects of potential M&A transactions.
Monitoring developments in artificial intelligence and its possible use cases and pitfalls in an in-house legal setting.
Participating in Textron’s global anti-corruption compliance process for vetting third party intermediaries.
Assisting with ethics and compliance and global trade compliance risk assessments at various Textron locations.
Participating in jury research activities and trial theme development.
Aiding in the creation of eDiscovery search strategies.
Drafting memoranda and special project reports and presentations.
Attending and participating in meetings.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Currently enrolled as a rising 2L student at Georgetown University Law Center
Accepted into the Business Law Scholars (BLS) Program at Georgetown
Strong GPA and academic record
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Well-developed organizational and fact-gathering skills
Ability to work as a member of a team and independently, as experience is gained
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced work environment
