EP&MD focuses on three mission contributions: Clean Fossil Energy, Electricity Infrastructure, & Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
We are seeking an outstanding scientist to join our multi-disciplinary team for energy storage research to investigate cutting edge technologies in the advanced Li-ion batteries and Li metal batteries. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be the development of electrolytes and electrode for Li batteries and investigate the failure mechanism of batteries and improve their long-term stability. The candidate will also prepare manuscripts for publication, present the research work internally and externally at national/international conferences, and develop new ideas for the funded research.
- Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
The candidate must possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or other related fields within the past five years from an accredited college or university
Experience in one or more of the following areas: strong background and knowledge in fundamental materials synthesis for advanced electrode materials for battery applications; extensive knowledge and hands-on skills in material preparation, battery assembly and testing required.
Prior experiences with development of non-aqueous electrolytes and/or coating on electrode surface, are preferred.
Demonstrated record of publishing in first class journals and an ability to collaborate effectively on a teaming environment are required. Must be safety orientated.
