International Finance Business Partner

The *International Finance Business Partner *serves as a member of the Kennedy Center for International Studies, the London Centre, and Performing Arts Management unit leadership teams and provides finance counsel to those units. In addition, the position will cross train with the Controller, BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies.

The position oversees and is responsible for those units¿ finance functions and business processes. The position reports to the Assistant Administration Vice President, Finance with dotted line reporting to the supported units¿ leaders. 

*What you'll do in this position: *

  • Provide financial counseling to the unit's management teams including management accounting support for program costing, pricing decisions, cost saving opportunities, and funding/cashflow management.
  • Participate in annual unit board meeting material presentation and preparation.
  • Evaluate unit reserves to identify shortfalls/excess and prepare action plans to address. 
  • Actively participate in the unit's annual resource planning creation, review, and presentations. 
  • Provide regular unit financial position updates to unit leadership or oversees finance professionals providing financial position updates. 
  • Provide accounting leadership and execution by directing or approving monthly and annual accounting activity, including variance analysis reviews, journal entry creation and approval, expense and purchase reconciliations, monthly balance sheet account reconciliation, monthly and annual financial close entries.
  • Oversee the preparation of local country financial statements and manage the in-country audit process. 
  • Provide direct or indirect supervisor to all unit personnel performing finance functions.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or directly related, significant work experience and ten years professional accounting experience OR master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or directly related, significant work experience and eight years professional accounting experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally to participate in annual on-site board, bank, and auditor meetings. 

Preferred

  • Professional finance leadership experience in a higher education institution or for-profit entity. 
  • Experience in financial accounting for non-U.S. Operations.
  • Experience in regulatory and income tax issues related to non-U.S. Operations. 
  • Twelve years professional accounting experience.
  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business and a current Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or similar financial credential.

Pay Level: 56 Approximate Starting Salary: $104,000-$135,500 (DOQ)
