Guest Services Specialist I
Part-time Regular Position
History Colorado Community Museums
Hours per week: 15-20 (schedule may vary with operational needs)
Pay: $20 per hour
Position Description: The Guest Services Specialist will assist Community Museum staff with museum daily operations and provide a welcoming environment to all visitors. This is a part-time regular position, with benefits and holiday compensation. Weekend schedules and holidays are required.
Duties include:
Ensure that museum admission, gift shop and membership sales, daily tours, programs and activities run smoothly
Answer questions about the museum and the area
Provide support for our volunteer team.
Give tours or assist with programs if necessary, such as stack chairs, move tables, load and unload dishwashers to assist with programs.
Open and close the museum
Complete a visual check of all areas of the museum to check for anything out of the ordinary, report any concerns to staff.
Maintain overall appearance of the facility as directed
Open, close and operate cash register and daily sales records for days onsite, this includes counting the cash register at the beginning and end of the shift, recording all sales and reporting on the daily transactions and attendance.
Assist with running programs for the public including school field trips, museum tours and other special events.
Assist with special projects and events as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience: experience working in museums, the tourism industry, retail and/or customer service, experience with Excel and Google Sheets a plus, comfortable working independently, excellent communication skills required, knowledge of local area and surrounding attractions is helpful.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Ability to lift, push, pull up 30 pounds,
