Description of Job
The Licensed Counselor/Site Supervisor provides individual counseling in a professional and confidential setting to students and may provide group counseling on occasion. The counselor develops a diagnostic impression, treatment plan, and goals with the individual student and documents them in the electronics records system. Documentation includes initial intake, treatment plan, goals, and progress toward goals. Documentation is completed in the Electronic Health Record and must meet departmental standards and guidelines. Collaboration with the integrated Wolfpack Wellness team allows the counselor to provide the highest level of care, determine the level of care to meet the student’s needs, and refer when appropriate.
The Licensed Counselor/Site Supervisor supervises unlicensed individuals for internships or completion of licensing hours. The Site Supervisor meets weekly with the unlicensed individuals for ongoing supervision.
This position is for 32 hours a week (0.8 FTE).
Primary Duties
Counseling
Provide individual counseling services to students by completing initial intake information, establishing a diagnostic impression, developing a treatment plan with goals, and determining progress towards the individual student’s goals.
Collaborate with Wolfpack Wellness Team to ensure the appropriate level of care is utilized to best meet the needs of the students. Refer to a higher level of care as needed.
Provide crisis intervention on campus in the event a student is imminently a danger to self or others and arrange transport for immediate evaluation and treatment in a safe environment for the student. This includes completely documenting behaviors, impression, acuity of student need and reasons for transport.
Complete documentation in the Electronic Health Care record following department standards and guidelines.
Supervision
Supervise unlicensed interns and unlicensed counselors. Meet weekly with the unlicensed counseling staff to ensure compliance with protocols and on-going professional development.
Attend continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge base and maintain licensure and/or certifications to supervise unlicensed counselors.
Educational Outreach
Provide education for students, faculty, and staff regarding mental health issues. This may include but is not limited to providing educational information and training to Resident Assistants, Professional Housing staff, Desk Attendants, student athletes, Greek Life, Student Organizations, and in-classroom participation.
Ancillary Duties
Attend staff meetings, department meetings and division meetings as assigned.

$45,000 - $55,000 for this benefits-eligible, .8 FTE position (32 hours/week)
