Liberty Latin America Senior Specialist Network Support in Puerto Rico

What´s the role?

Deliver the highest-level network support within the tech support structure. Technical backbone for proactive fault management, problem management, problem resolution, technical vendor support/management, and network performance monitoring.

How can you add value?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Leads the technical troubleshooting required to recover from the most complex network problems in real time, working with technical resources and vendors to restore service.

  • ONE IT Service Assurance Center: Leads/conducts diagnosis, troubleshooting, resolution and prompt recovery of network related issues impacting IT stack connectivity and mobile services.

  • IT stack connectivity SME for ONE IT Service Assurance Center: end to end IT stack network connectivity, use of network/Mobile Core

  • Mobile network SME for ONE IT Service Assurance Center: end to end Mobile Network from BBU, SIAD, MPLS Core, Nokia, interfacing with VAS, Core Switch.

  • Provides support to Supervisor's subordinates based on general policies and guidelines and may modify standard practices to solve non-standard work problems. Regularly reports indicators on the operation of the unit.

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion to define the issues and develop solutions to complex problems that require innovation and ingenuity.

  • Research and investigation of operations tools for network performance

  • Manages maximizing use of operations tools for optimum network performance

  • Develop scripts, programming, to pro-actively identify known defect signatures and define the least intrusive recovery processes.

  • Exercises judgment and discretion and proactively analyzes and/or evaluates existing processes. Participates in solutions to a wide range of complex problems.

  • Leverage comprehension of multiple operating system environments, including Windows and UNIX and networking components configuration.

  • Analyze complex data sets using various scripting languages, including Perl and Python. Analyze the development of advanced methodologies to help promote cutting-edge analysis.

  • Configure and extend vendor software to deliver solutions for internal customers to meet departmental or enterprise business needs in addition to providing extended support as needed.

  • Plans and schedules own work. Most assignments are delivered in the form of expected results. Work is regularly shared with the team and/or manager.

  • Collaborate with vendors on product capabilities and improvements needed to meet company requirements.

What do you need?

Education and/or Experience

BS in Computer Programming and/in Electronics.

7+ years of technical experience.

Other Qualifications:

  • Manage vendor relationships that reduce costs, improve service levels

  • Experience in IP networking,

  • Expert level TCP/IP and routing knowledge (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, BFD)

  • Experience in MPLS, Layer 2 / 3 VPNs, VPLS, Carrier Ethernet, CoS/QoS and IPsec

  • Experience with Unix / Linux systems administration

  • Network analysis and management experience using SNMP, NTP, DNS, SSH, etc.

  • Good communication and positive interpersonal skills.

  • Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).
