Description
Assist patients who call or visit with medical records issues and document in the EHR/Practice Management system as needed
Provide clinical and clerical support when requested
Copy/scan/mail completed documents and record on form when it was processed
Ability to access and enter patient consent into RHIO and obtain required documents
Print schedules in preparation for upcoming visits
Call to request consultative, ER/Urgent Care reports for patients seen outside of office
Must be flexible to organizational needs across NOCHSI network
Scan all patient documents as instructed with accuracy and compliance according to the Look-up Code report
Collect and scan loose documents from clinical areas into the appropriate patient chart
Task documents to staff as appropriate
Prepare documents for internal and external audits
Receive and process request/release for information and record on release what was sent in detail
Post charges for records released in Practice Management
Route incoming and outgoing faxes, labs and miscellaneous documents to the appropriate recipients
Recording appropriate information in the transfer and deceased patient logs
Open and distribute Center mail
To engage in Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives, including participating as part of the Clinical Care Team
Other duties and responsibilities as requested by management and supervision
Requirements
High school graduate or GED
Verbal and written communication skills, office applications preferred
Demonstrate proper judgment and decision making skills when necessary
Comply with the organizations code of conduct, safety rules and adheres to all company policies
Carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective and professional manner
Must be willing and demonstrate the ability to cooperate, work, and communicate with coworkers and supervisors
Must demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite and electronic medical record system
Must possess a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors; must possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situations; must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and co-workers
Must be keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position
Salary Description
$15.25-$17.75 Depending on Experience
