Summary of Duties:
In the Control Technician position, you will be responsible for performing installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair for a wide variety of complex HVAC systems, mechanical systems, control systems, alarm systems and metering systems to support building and campus operations. This involves use of all types of electronic/mechanical test equipment, creative troubleshooting techniques and methods, personal computers, and programming software.

Required Qualifications:
• Completion of a two-year approved institution course as a Control Technician Trainee, OR four years of applicable experience in installation, repair, AND maintenance of electrical AND pneumatic control systems. Vocational OR trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years.
• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Computer knowledge in hardware and software applications, database, building automation technology, graphics, data acquisition, project file maintenance, record documentation, and client communication skills.
• Computer knowledge and skills specialized to building automation systems, specifically HVAC equipment, lighting, alarm systems connected to HVAC operation, etc.
