Position Details:

 

Summary of Duties:

 

As a member of the Data Management team, the Data Consultant is responsible for directing the data entry effort performed by research support staff (Research Study Assistants and Research Study Coordinators) and provides training and consultation to all IREACH staff and faculty with regard to data entry, management, and retention. With minimal oversight, is responsible for resolving ambiguous data and data reconciliation tasks. This position will document ambiguous data and resolution and maintain Departmental data entry tracking logs. This position will be responsible for the extraction and aggregation of data from multiple systems.

 

They will also collaborate with the REDCap Administrator team and Research Operations Manager to oversee Institute research data management for various projects; and consult with the REDCap team to ensure newly built databases are compliant with IREACH and WSU protocol. Is responsible for the development and implementation of Department's data inventory, cataloging, storing, and or destroying data as required by WSU, Tribal, and Federal policy.

 

This position will function as a psychometric consultant, utilizing the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and advising study teams in the instrument's use and quality control. Creates reports to monitor all trainings to assess for completion.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree, including college-level course work in statistics and/or mathematics or one (1) year of work experience in statistics, analysis, or research OR equivalent education/experience.

 

Additional Requirements:

 

• Demonstrated ability to define, analyze, and document data requirements.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience in utilization of research or related databases.

• Familiarity with scoring, reconciling and administration of cognitive assessments such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment toolkit.

• Experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures.

• Experience utilizing Microsoft software such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience in supporting a large research institute's data entry and administration initiative, with diverse project needs and requirements, with researchers across multiple institutions.

• Experience working with American Indian/Alaska Native populations or with Indigenous data sovereignty.

• Experience developing and facilitating employee training.

• Experience using Microsoft SharePoint for collaboration.

• Experience managing or maintaining research data using Access, RedCap, or other, similar data management application.
