The Facilities Services team at WSU Vancouver has a couple of positions to consider. Summary of Duties These positions are assigned to the Facilities Services Department at WSU Vancouver and under general supervision performs a wide variety of maintenance functions required to maintain university buildings. They perform a variety of skilled or semi-skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling and construction of buildings, grounds, machinery, mechanical facilities and equipment. Will inspect, provide preventative maintenance, repairs and alterations to support the students, faculty and staff of WSU Vancouver. May serve as a subject matter expert with coworkers or representing the University to vendors serving the University. May be eligible for standby pay which is additional pay for employees required to be immediately available for duty in accordance with OFM and WAC 357-28-205. Required Qualifications Maintenance Mechanic 1 High school graduation or equivalent and two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work; OR equivalent education/experience. A valid driver's license may be required with the ability to meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards. Preferred Qualifications. Experience operating motorized equipment such as tractors and lifts. Experience operating a forklift or ability to obtain a forklift certification within 9 months of hire. Maintenance Mechanic 2 High school graduation and four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of journey-level experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work or equivalent education/experience. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated work experience in a commercial/industrial setting. Journey level license or certifications in the trades such as: HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical, general contractor or other trades.
