Professional Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Strategic Communications Program Administrative Manager, you will be responsible for the daily administrative operations of Strategic Communications and Brand Marketing unit under University Marketing and Communications (UMC) area. This includes planning, coordinating, and managing the administrative, personnel, business, and fiscal functions of Visual Design team, Brand Marketing and Social Media team, Photo Services, Video Services, Web Planning & Strategy team, and the Washington State Magazine. As a key member of the UMC administrative team, you will collaborate with the Area Finance Officer (AFO) in short- and long-term planning for UMC. You will also exercise independent judgment, decision-making, initiative, and discretion in performing your duties. You will provide direct support to the UMC Strategic Communications and Brand Marketing management team, and Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications as necessary. You will act as the administrative contact, often on complex and confidential issues, for internal and external constituencies. In this role, you will need a high degree of professionalism and strong organizational skills and exercises independent judgment in interpreting and applying Washington State and WSU policies and procedures. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree in a program-related area and four (4) years of progressively responsible work in the program specialty, which has included at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Experience using computer accounting information systems and/or applications software. • Experience with budgets management. • Administrative experience Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working in higher education and experience with WSU business/fiscal policies, procedures, personnel, and related systems. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
