Primary Purpose of Job:

This role is Co- Lead role working closely with Lead Project Management having similar job responsibilities as defined below. Contribute to STANTEC’s business goals by providing technical expertise and leadership on projects/programs as per Strategic growth plan for PM. Act as and/or support the Project Manager as required. Grow the team in Pune through innovation and proactive initiatives and develop the Pune PM team as a centre of excellence to support our business globally. Assist the Senior Leadership in Pune in matters such as resource management, engineering process development and forward-looking plans.

The Pune PM Lead will be accountable for the project management, staff management, mentoring, training, overall performance, and technical delivery for the team, working closely with counterparts globally as required. PM Lead is also expected to be an ambassador for the PM group, meet project & client expectations and promote a continually improving perception of the teams to our customers for technical delivery. It is senior level position, assigned for managing portfolios and large projects which includes Scheduling, Cost and Change control, mentoring and review of work being delivered by Project controllers and Project management assistants. This position primarily focused on supporting the project managers, project leads and other team members in the areas of scheduling, costing and concepts related to the industry technology, project management and earned value management. Under minimum supervision, perform routine project control assignments. In addition, perform duties as & when assigned.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for leading, guiding, monitoring, growth of PM team.

  • Responsible for major projects, big portfolios. Helping the team development, Active participation in Increasing team success, Identify Challenges in Team Growth Plan, Training needs for the team.

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated CPM schedules for major programs and a portfolio of projects.

  • Review schedule, progress and productivity of resources; monitor and verify monthly costs and earned value; and conduct change order management and control.

  • Develop, manage and monitor program and project specific budgets, cash flow projections and forecasts.

  • Evaluate and update data regarding cost status, resource requirements and productivity variance reports.

  • Develop and prepare monthly project progress reports.

  • Develop concise progress summary reports.

  • Develop and prepare any specific reporting requirement of Project Managers

  • Interface directly with Project Managers in order to review project plans, budgets, status reports and deliverables. Ensure that work products meet standards as defined by Stantec.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt new tools and system/processes.

  • Project design management and co-ordination with project teams.

  • Willingness to work late evening or early morning hours to enable collaboration with project managers located throughout the globe.

  • Ensure delivery of work done by team is in accordance with to technical quality standards, timescales and budget.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent project performance.

  • Complete all work in line with STANTEC Core Values and in accordance with the STANTEC Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Engineering Director.

  • B. Tech/B.E (Civil/Construction/Mechanical).

  • Post-Graduation in Construction Management. PMP Certification would be mandatory.

  • 20+ years of professional experience.

  • Experience in leading PM team/PCS, expertise in project controls, scheduling, cost engineering and cost control pertaining to engineering and construction activities will be an added advantage.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. This is a very essential requirement to maintain seamless collaboration with project managers.

  • Knowledge of Primavera P6.

  • Demonstrated experience of earlier project design management and co-ordination with project team.

  • Demonstrated competence in MS Office applications.

  • Knowledge of Power BI, Project risk management will be preferred.

  • High level of project management, i.e.: have the skills necessary to manage a program or project, includes managing relationship with project associates and project tasks, budgets, scope and risk etc.

  • Expert level of client service management, i.e.: able to interface with internal clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships with our Clients.

  • High levels of decision making, i.e. able to make quality business decisions as well as to identify, assess, evaluate and solve problems. Travel to various regions as required & other job demands.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, technical specialist and Discipline leads across globe.

  • A “Can Do” attitude with a strong delivery focus especially in the area of enhanced processes for increasing efficiency.

  • Excellent understanding of quality principles and the application of Quality Management Systems.

  • A sound knowledge of the development of delivery processes, in particular the ability to understand methods of performance evaluation and improvement implementation.
